Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Some quick thinking by neighbors in Gallitzin may have prevented an overnight house fire from being a lot worse.
Officials say several area crews were called just after midnight Tuesday when flames broke out at a home on Grant Street.
Authorities say they arrived to find flames shooting from the front of the house, which were even melting some of the siding on the home across the street.
Officials say some of the residents were trapped on the back porch, but two neighbors were able to rescue them using some ladders they had handy.
Investigators say there were also multiple explosions on scene and a car involved. No injuries were reported.
Officials say two adults and five kids, along with multiple pets, lived in the home. Crews were able to save one cat.
A state police fire marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of the blaze.
