Send a Zoom Invite for a Scheduled Meeting

If your meeting is already scheduled, and you would like to send out invites for it, here's how to do that.

Send an Invite on Desktop

To send a meeting invite from your desktop computer, first, launch the Zoom app.

At the top of the Zoom window, click "Meetings."

On the "Meetings" page, you will see all your scheduled meetings. Here, click the meeting you want to invite people to.

On the right pane, your meeting's details will appear. Here, to copy the text that describes how to join your meeting (the meeting invitation), click the "Copy Invitation" button.

To view the meeting invitation text before sending it, click the "Show Meeting Invitation" option. In the screenshot below, it says "Hide Meeting Invitation" because we have already clicked the option.

Now that your invitation is copied to your clipboard, use an email, instant messenger, or whatever service you prefer to send invites. With this text invitation, your recipient will have all the details they need to join your meeting.

Send an Invite on Mobile

To send out invites from a mobile phone, launch the Zoom app on your phone. In the bottom bar of the app, tap "Meetings."

On the "Meetings" page, select the meeting you want to invite people to.

A "Meeting Details" page will open. Tap the "Invite" button.

You will now see an "Add Invitees Via" menu. In this menu, select the app you want to use to send your invitation. To copy the invitation text to your clipboard, then tap "Copy to Clipboard" in the menu.

Send over your copied invitation however you want, and your recipient will be able to attend your meeting.

Send a Zoom Invite for an Ongoing Meeting

Even if your Zoom meeting has already started, you can send invites and allow people to join it.

Send an Invite on Desktop

To invite someone to an ongoing meeting from your desktop, in Zoom's bottom bar, click "Participants."

At the bottom of the "Participants" panel that opens, click "Invite."

You will see an "Invite" window. Here, to invite someone who is in your contacts list, click the "Contacts" tab at the top. Then type the user's name and select them.

To send the invitation via email, click the "Email" tab. Then select your email provider. When you click a provider, Zoom opens that email's site, composes a new email, and automatically pastes your meeting invitation. You can then define the recipients and send your invitation.

To copy a link to your meeting that a user can click to join the meeting, click the "Copy Invite Link" button in the lower-left corner of the "Invite" window. To copy the entire invitation message, click "Copy Invitation" instead.

Send an Invite on Mobile

To invite someone to a running meeting from your phone, then at the bottom of the meeting screen in Zoom, tap "Participants."

On the "Participants" screen, in the lower-left corner, tap "Invite."

In the "Invite" menu, select the app you want to use to invite people to your meeting. To copy the invitation link and manually send it to someone, tap "Copy Invite Link."

Your recipient can click the link to attend your meeting.

And that's how you add people to your Zoom meetings by sending invitation messages!
