CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County say an Elmora man is facing sexual assault charges for allegedly abusing a young girl over multiple years.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, 36-year-old Robert Hook Jr. reportedly began sexually assaulting the girl in 2021, when she was 11 or 12 years old.
The girl told police that the abuse occurred on a weekly basis and ended in May or June of 2023, according to the affidavit.
Hook has been charged with several sex offenses, including felony charges for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and statutory sexual assault.
He was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Rick Varner, of Salix, and was sent to the Cambria County Prison on 10 percent of $500,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. May 21 before District Judge Michael Zungali, of Hastings.
