Swords, bow found during drug raid in Cresson Borough

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) Authorities in Cambria County say two individuals are behind bars following a drug bust at a Cresson Borough apartment complex. Officials say on Tuesday, Cresson Borough police and the Cambria County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the Keystone Ave. Apartments following an investigation into suspected drug activity.

Authorities in Cambria County say two individuals are behind bars following a drug bust at a Cresson Borough apartment complex.

Officials say on Tuesday, Cresson Borough police and the Cambria County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the Keystone Ave. Apartments following an investigation into suspected drug activity.

Authorities say the search led to the seizure of various drugs, including heroin, methamphetamine, Oxycodone and marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia.

Investigators say police also seized several weapons, including two swords and a compound bow.

During the drug bust, officials say 48-year-old Derek Herdman was taken into custody on multiple charges, including possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is jailed in the Cambria County Prison on $300,000 bail.

Investigators say 37-year-old Melissa Ray was also found at the apartment and was taken into custody on a probation violation.

Authorities say the investigation remains active.
