Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Centre County say more charges have been filed against a local journalist who was previously accused of having sexual communications with an FBI agent who was posing as a teenage girl.
Police say following the initial arrest of Christopher Morelli, in mid-December, investigators were contacted by a female who claimed that she was victimized by Morelli in 2011, when she was 14 years old.
According to the affidavit, police say the victim showed investigators a series of Facebook messages between her and Morelli from the fall of 2011.
Police say the victim explained that she had met Morelli through her youth soccer team.
Investigators say the victim described one incident where she and a friend visited Morelli's home, while no one else was there, in order to swim in his pool.
Police say during the incident, Morelli allegedly provided the two minors with alcohol.
Authorities say after the swimming incident, the victim stated that she began receiving Facebook messages from Morelli, in which he allegedly asked her to return to his home, alone.
Police say the messages reportedly became increasingly inappropriate and sexual in nature, at which time the victim stated that she stopped responding to Morelli.
Authorities say Morelli was taken back into custody Friday.
He was charged with felony criminal solicitation-statutory sexual assault and felony corruption of minors.
According to online court records, he is being held in the Centre County Prison and his bail was denied for "community safety" reasons.
