JEFFERSON CO, Pa (WJAC) — According to Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, an Ohio man and his female accomplice have been arrested following a methamphetamine bust in Jefferson County.
Authorities say 25-year-old Kimari Jackson and 26-year-old Kareem Rock have been charged with possession with the intent to deliver approximately 850 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 150 tablets of morphine, and 30 grams of cocaine.
On Feb. 6, state police stopped Jackson's vehicle after she was observed driving erratically, and discovered that both her and Rock had active arrest warrants from Ohio.
Troopers then searched her vehicle and found over 500 grams of methamphetamine and a key to a hotel room in Clearfield County.
State police and the Jefferson County Drug Task Force then searched the hotel room, where investigators discovered a loaded firearm and a stuff animal that contained several bags of "illicit substances."
“This case is an example of outstanding police work by an individual trooper coupled with critical inter-agency communication and collaboration that resulted in the seizure of dangerous drugs and weapons and serious criminal charges filed against the individuals arrested,” said Major Jeremy Richard, director of the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Authorities say both Rock and Jackson have also been charged with criminal conspiracy and are being housed at the Jefferson County Prison.
“Drug dealing is a dangerous and often violent enterprise, and we will not sit idly by while dealers traffic poison into Pennsylvania and try to profit by devastating our communities,” said Attorney General Shapiro. “My office, along with our law enforcement partners, will continue to hold those accountable who profit from drug trafficking.”
